Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Camberwell Removals is committed to conducting its business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, agency staff, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Camberwell Removals.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Camberwell Removals has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, child labour, or any form of exploitation. We expect the same stance from all those with whom we do business.
All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting a culture that upholds this policy and for challenging any behaviour or practice that may give rise to concerns about modern slavery. Any breach of this policy by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by suppliers or contractors may result in the termination of contracts or business relationships.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Camberwell Removals operates within the removals, storage, and associated services sector. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, warehousing services, equipment, and various professional and support services. We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may carry higher risks, particularly where labour-intensive services or lower-skilled work is involved.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our ethical standards and who can demonstrate compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, we undertake proportionate due diligence before entering into new supplier relationships and when renewing key contracts. This may include assessing the supplier’s location, industry, employment practices, and any publicly available information regarding their labour standards and human rights record.
Camberwell Removals reserves the right to conduct audits or request evidence from suppliers to confirm compliance with our modern slavery expectations. These audits may include reviewing policies, training records, and workforce arrangements, and may be conducted directly by us or by a suitably qualified third party. Where we identify areas for improvement, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to address these issues within a reasonable timeframe. If concerns are not adequately addressed, we may reconsider or end the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, contract management, and supplier oversight. Training and internal guidance focus on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding reporting routes, and reinforcing our zero-tolerance policy.
New starters are made aware of our expectations around ethical conduct and respect for human rights as part of their induction, and existing staff are reminded of these standards through ongoing communication and updates to internal policies.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Camberwell Removals encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised with a line manager, senior management, or via established internal reporting channels. Reports may be made in confidence and will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively.
No person who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any adverse treatment, victimisation, or retaliation as a result of speaking up. We are committed to protecting whistleblowers and ensuring that all reports are addressed fairly and transparently.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that combating modern slavery requires ongoing vigilance and improvement. Camberwell Removals will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, our business operations, or identified risks.
As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, including our supplier due diligence processes, staff training, and reporting mechanisms. Where we identify gaps or areas for enhancement, we will update our policies and practices accordingly to strengthen our response.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Camberwell Removals and represents our commitment to playing our part in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains.
